Dobbie, a sweet and affectionate 9-month-old Doberman, found his new family with the help of Lola’s Trust and a network of caring individuals. Dobbie’s journey began when his owner, due to changing circumstances, made the difficult decision to rehome him. As Dobbie was one of the puppies from his mother, Ivy—a beloved family Doberman—his breeder was deeply invested in helping find him the perfect new home. Unable to take him on full-time due to space limitations but knowing his lovable, “velcro” personality, they reached out to Lola’s Trust, hoping for support in finding a family that could offer Dobbie the love he deserved.

Ben, the heart and soul behind Lola’s Trust, welcomed Dobbie and his previous caregivers with a warmth and passion that reassured them immediately. During their initial meet-up, Ben spent the afternoon walking with Dobbie, learning his personality, and ensuring he’d feel comfortable among his own dogs. This thoughtful approach allowed everyone involved to see that Ben's commitment to Dobbie was genuine, as he acknowledged the heartbreak of parting ways and promised to treat Dobbie as his own.

In a process designed to ease Dobbie’s transition, Ben allowed his previous owner to take as much time as needed, even accompanying them for another walk around his neighborhood to help Dobbie feel more at ease. His respect and patience created a sense of comfort, making the painful goodbye a little easier.

True to his word, Ben kept Dobbie’s family updated, sharing photos and updates to show how well he was adapting. His sensitive and timely communication made a challenging time more bearable, as everyone involved wanted nothing but happiness for Dobbie. In the end, Ben found a wonderful home for Dobbie with a family who, like his previous owner, shared a love for Dobermans and already had other Dobermans in their lives.

Now, Dobbie is thriving with his new family, surrounded by familiar Doberman companionship and all the love he could wish for.
